Threading Play

Picture
Maria Montessori called the hand “the companion to the mind.” She observed that manipulating objects with the hands facilitates and more fully integrates learning experiences.

By using their hands in threading, lacing, and stringing activities, children develop manual dexterity and manipulative skills.

Sewing, weaving, and other kinds of handwork help children develop fine motor skills and concentration, while building self-confidence with successful experiences.

A great way to keep little hands busy!
